Hola. We were told by the Catrasto office in La Huerta that they will be here to receive property tax payments on Saturday, the 28th, at or near the Delegado's office. Probably starting at 10:00 AM.
The Delegado's office is confirming the above information and we'll get back to you on the date, time and place and if it is going to happen. Such is Mexico, I love it, most of the time. Cruz
Hola Cruz. Aren't you referring to house taxes? Property taxes are paid at the Ejidal office, Monday to Friday, 9-1:30. I go to La Huerta every January to pay my house taxes. I had heard that they come here once a year but didn't know that one could pay property taxes directly to them too.
Hola, Evelyn. Let's see if I can explain myself as right this minute I don't know the exact terms used by the Ejido and La Huerta.
Yes, the Catastro department from La Huerta comes each year to collect what they call predial, property tax I believe. And yes, depending on which office has jurisdiction over their property, some people pay La Huerta and some pay the local Ejido office (I don't know what the Ejido calls this yearly payment). For instance, my home changed to titled so I no longer pay the Ejido and I go directly to the Catastro office. So you pay only one entity, not both.
So the moral of the story is to check with the Ejido office or Catasto to see where your payment belongs.
On Saturday, you will be able to make other kinds of payments also like for business licenses. However, no yearly car registration payment services will be available here. For those kinds of payments, you can go to Cihuatlan for the closest office. Vehicle transactions are State, and not County or Ejido, affairs.
I hope this helps. It is very handy to pay here if your 'tax' belongs to Catastro or La Huerta. Cruz
