There is a hub of activity in the ejido building. Under the leadership of Alberto and Lorena, volunteers are setting up for the big Children's Art Exposition which will be open for all our Art Walk visitors tomorrow, January 29th.
Children have created fridge magnets, key fobs and personalized hand crafts which are available for a donation. All proceeds from the sale of these items go towards children's art programs in La Manzanilla.
Listed below are the children's programs Art Walk supported in 2016:
La Catalina after school program Linda Koenig's art work from her Saturday morning program Art work from the scholarship program Mabel's summer art program
Tee shirts are also for sale proceeds of which go towards children's art programs. The picture on the front was done by a five year old student, William, and 2017 contest entries will be on display. No winner announced yet but stay tuned.
In order that Art Walk can continue supporting these programs, we need your donations. Please make a point of stopping by and speaking with Lorena and the students. Oh, and don't forget to buy a little keepsake from Art Walk. The students appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing this, Pam. I look forward to seeing photos of the finished display.
I hope all the key people realize how much your efforts are appreciated. Detalles, y mas detalles, verdad? (did I spell that right?) - not to mention the big picture, too. It takes a lot to pull off this big day every year. Gracias!
Just a small correction here...the art submitted by all the schools has a theme...."What Makes Me Happy" and was hung today by Alberto and Loreena. It will be judged at a later date because we got it too late this week but is for the 2018 tee shirt contest.
And the ejido building is chock full of things to see...these kids are so clever!
Thanks to all who put time and energy into making this space happen!
