I want to thank everyone who was so welcoming to me when I visited. I had a fantastic time. I want to make a small contribution to your community by warning anyone who doesn't already know to wear insect repellent all over when you go to the airport. We both had several very very itchy bites. Maybe they were in the bathroom? We didn't see bugs, but they saw us! Thanks again, Donna

Someone responded privately that they had never had a problem, so we realized there were a few other places we could have encountered bugs. Either way, insect repellent in our friend.... 😉

Another response posted by email to me. Here's the gist of it:
I always bring repellant to Manzanillo airport. We have been travelling to that airport for many years, and always there are Mosquitos around 6:00 to 9:00 pm. (Sundown) The airport is situated in a swamp area. Repellant is a must. Thank you advising for the "heads up".
So, whether we got our bites there or somewhere else, bug repellant is a good idea. Nothing new here, but I just didn't know how important it is. I am from North Western Ontario (we have a black fly song they are so bad, and the other bugs are not a joke either). I will know better next time.
