Medical help

I've been unwell since Friday and may need some proffesional medical advice soon. Is it best to go up to the clinic or the doctor near the pharmacy. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hilary do you have a phone where you are? If so, call me...351-7251...if not...what are your symptoms and if you do not want to share on the board email me at the above white envelope. Most all of us living here full or part time have had weird issues so not a very private issue for me....but if you feel better writning me directly , please do so!

Depending on what is bothering you gets two different answers from me. Are you alone and do you have a car or need a ride?

There are 2 pharmacies in town.
Dra Marta is usually at her office daytime and evenings located on Calle Maria Asuncion by the church.

Dra Gabriela Vazquez is at her office after 6pm located on Calle Lazaro Cardenas just past Chely hardware store towards the beach.

The clinic in town is the Centro de salud just behind the school on Lazaro Cardenas. Not sure of hours or doctors there.

Thank you so much for your information. I went to the Dra near the church and had some treatment. She has asked me to go into the lab in Melaque tomorrow morning for tests. She'll have the results the same day.
I'm on the road to recovery, hopefully

Good idea to go to the lab and get a culture. I'm impressed that Marta recommended that. You have to know what you are treating.

There is also a medical doctor, Dra. Priscila Serano at the Centro de Salud, beside the Telesecondaia Escuela, from 8am to 3 pm Mon - Fri. - and "on call" the rest of the time since she stays there.I have been pleased with her treatment of my recent injury and have heard of others also satisfied with her professional care.

The only doctor in town that I know of is Dr. Gaby (Vazquez) down off the main road towards the beach. I thought Marta was the owner of the pharmacy and not a doctor. Correct me if I am wrong. She does know a lot but if it is a serious issue you might want to check with a real Dr.

My understanding is that one must be a doctor in order to own a farmacia and that there are varying levels of doctor, that Dra. Marta has not the same level of training as, for example, Dra. Linda in Barra.
Can anyone shed more light on this?
