Then, when you go back to Canada, you would take
the phone in, get a new SIM card again, and get your Canadian number again.
It would be a good idea to explain to the company in Canada how long you will be away, and that you want to retain your Canadian number, so it doesn't get changed when you go back.
I think it is still, even with that extra chore to do, a better, much cheaper way to have cell phone service here, and, because most of the restaurants have internet, you can also do emails, etc. away from home if your new phone is a smart one.
The other option is to buy a plan in Canada that allows you to use your Canadian service here, but I think it is very expensive.
Have I got that right, others reading this? More opinions/facts are appreciated.168
