I'm wondering if anyone there happens to know the local name for some food I bought last year on a tiangues day - a guy was selling them in small bags out of his truck on Maria Asuncion somewhere. So, they look like a bunch of large pea pods (tree fruit?), but with thicker, bumpy skin, dull green with a little pink tinge, I think. Inside are shiny black seeds surrounded by an edible, sweetish, white pulp, kind of dry with an interesting taste/mouthfeel. Closest I could see online was perhaps a smaller Inga sp. (ice cream bean) or some kind of Pakay fruit. Anyways, if you do know the local name (and/or botanical name), much appreciated. I asked and was told the name at the time, but memory fails me...
