Hola, Bob. Well this is the story, I don't know how the pool was built/formed or what-have-you. We arrived on the scene in 2011, after the pool came into being some 10 years ago. It was starting to lose tiles so we decided to have just cement and to add a nice mosaic mural by Mazinka on the pump house. This is what we did. The remaining tiles were removed. Then cement with sealant and blue coloring was applied, being smoothed or polished by the workers as it was applied. Afterwards, We wet the cement each day as it cured and as we waited for some decorative tile to arrive. A few days ago the decorative tile was applied around the pool's top edge and around the stair edges. We will seal the tile and caulking. Today the pool was drained and cleaned. Now it just waits for water, to be delivered by tank fulls from Los Ingenios, with the thinking that hopefully the pool is waterproof. Wish us luck, lol. Cruz
