The method is to empty the rain gauge daily as I discovered and shared in

The measurement I started this thread with "from the last time to this time" is
worded that way because I didn't empty the gauge daily from August 31, 2017, 9:07 am
to Today, September 5, 9:13 am.
So there was some evaporation. I try to remember to be an astute weather person
but this obviously is not my strong suit

So once again I will defer my .5 inches to your .9 inches.

You know why some people have trouble with measurements? Because all
their lives some people have been telling them that this ______________ is 6 inches
