Sabina, a long-time vendor here on the beach in La Manz, visited our house today. She lives in Melaque, and has been working this beach for 17 years, all the while paying her impuestos.
Many folks here may not know that all the beach vendors are required to pay an annual licence fee to the municipality - otherwise their wares will be confiscated by police.

I've really enjoyed getting to know some of the vendors. They are lovely, warm people working very hard to make a living. I've wondered but never asked how the system for selling on the beach works. Now I know.Thank you for posting both the photo and the info.
