They do it for a reason, click source and read the comments. "This is how pretty much all inexpensive parasailing is done in Thailand. None of the operators have the equipment so you launch from the boat so you launch from the beach. They run with you to ensure you don't trip and get dragged face first across the sand. Then they just hang out on the ropes while your in the air." TheAnusOfSauron "That's not all they do. You also have to land on the beach. So when it comes time to land, the guy on your back yanks the chute toward the beach while the boat runs parallel to the shore. This forces you back over the sand. It's fun because you have to pick your feet up so you don't kick beach-goers in the head as you land."
