Propane tank

Does anyone know where to purchase a standard propane tank to fit a weber barbecue? We did purchase one at Coppell but the coupling is wrong. Thanks for any advice! | ------------------------Re: Propane tank

I recently bought a new 20 # tank for my Webber at Home Depot, thinking my older tank was defective. But it wasn't - it was the connecting hose between the tank and Regulator. You don't seem sure whether you need a new tank or a new hose and coupling. I have not yet found a source of a new hose but am looking. In the meantime my older tank is for sale.2938109 | ------------------------Re: Propane tank

Thanks Larry. Our hose is fine and we are interested in purchasing your tank. Been trying to call your number but no luck. Our landline is 315-351-5578 if you would like to give us a call. Thanks | ------------------------Re: Propane tank

Replacement regulator and hose available at Home Depot in plumbing section. Take information off the (or pictures of) old regulator to make sure you get the correct pressure ratings as you look through the packages. If you get an incorrectly rated regulator, you will have either too little or too much gas being allowed through to the burner. You will likely have to find a few brass adapter fittings as well to convert. Remember to get some yellow thread seal tape at the same time. White is not as good (safety) but will work if high density. If your regulator is good all you need is an adaptor hose from the one pound bottle fitting to the standard larger fitting. I haven’t looked for one of those recently so am not sure who might carry one. Some people have adaptor hoses brought down from NOB. I’ve had to replace a few Weber regulators in recent years as they have died. | ------------------------Re: Propane tank

I actually took the original Weber regulator out of the equation and hooked our Weber bbq to our main house line using a few adapters bought at the hardware store beside Pedro's. Our main house line already has a regulator on it for the whole house. Don't know how close the house regulator is compared to the Weber one, but have been using this for 5 years so far. Every few years I order a replacement burner. | ------------------------ |
