We raised chickens for years here in BC and enjoyed the eggs. We also gave them all the table scraps. Since we have bear problems here we can't easily use compost heaps and giving them the scraps was duel purpose. However we found that the meat smells from scraps attracted animals to the coop. You might consider this as you are having some sort of predators invading and killing your birds. It could be cats, dogs, birds, or even a catamundi (tajon in Mexico). I don't know what to say about snakes and lizard types. Good luck with it. We wish you success and look forward to your eggs. |
