Sounds like that was quite a drive. The weather report described last night's weather as "debris moisture" from Kiko. There's also a tropical wave south of us which may be interacting with the sheared off southern part of the storm - that was probably what you experienced last night. La Manz got some very nice rain but no wind to speak of. This should be a very interesting two days - the last NHC update shows Kiko becoming a hurricane by Saturday - just before it gets to this latitude. Things can change a lot before then but unless Kiko falls apart or changes course in the next 24 hours, I think we're in for some excitement.
