The southern part of the Big Island of Hawaii still has no county water system so everyone uses redwood tanks with a screen on top to keep the critters out. Most people add a few drops of clorox once in awhile, but not enough to be able to taste it. I've never heard of anyone getting sick from drinking that water but we've been gone a long time and Hawaii rainwater may not be as pristine as it used to be. Catchment water systems should be required in order to build in La Manzanilla - either that, or Tamarindo could stop watering their golf course - either would work.
