Thank you for this posting. Tom and I are also gluten free. Most of the restaurants are very accommodating to our 'no harina' requests. We have not found any grocery stores that sell gluten free, but were told that Alex, who owns the Hawaii grocery, will bring things in if you ask him in advance. (Sorry, I do not know how to reach him). If all of us who need gluten free foods ask, maybe more grocers will carry foods. In the meantime, my husband and I bring food with us. If you can get Pamela's mixes where you live, she make a great pancake mix that can be used for breading, baking cookies and making pie crusts.
