So we don't get complacent about August storms - late August/early September storms are a whole different animal: 2005: Hurricane Hillary - August 24th; 2.74 inches of rain 2006: Hurricane John - August 31st; 5.57 inches of rain - I'm sure a lot of you remember that one. 2007: Hurricane Henriette - in this area from 8/30 thru 9/3; Sept. 2nd; 2.5 inches - Sept. 3rd; 5.62 inches. Another memorable storm. More gentle rain happening right now, coming in from the west, plus distant thunder and a little lightning - beautiful! |
