Cross early at Lukevlle, better to stay the night before in Ajo. Temporary importation of your vehicle is about 26 km after the border, then head for Santa Ana. There are lots of Pemex fuel stations on this leg and for most of the trip, a couple of toll roads farther south may stretch your coverage some. We overnight in San Carlos, Los Mochis, Mazatlan and Rincon de Guayabetos, but your distances may vary, we are slow in a motorhome, don't use motels. Other posters can fill you in on good overnight stops. Our five days can become three if you wish to extend the day's drive. Hermisillo comes up fast, takes ten or fifteen minutes, has a way through that is a bit more direct and they have been improving this for three or four years.
