Hola Lois L: The events I've heard about begin on Thursday, 15th, at 10 pm when they do the grito de Padre Dolores Hidalgo (the proclamation by a famous priest against the tyranny of Spain which begins the war for independence in 1810) in the plaza.

Then on Friday at 10 AM the parade. I forgot to ask where it begins and ends. I was just told that it begins at the primary school on the south end of town.

Then at 6:00 pm there is a greased pole climb with prizes that can be claimed by the person successful in climbing. The prizes are at the top of the pole. Should be a kick to watch and even more fun to try the climb. How about it, Valerie, I will if you will.

Then at 9:00 pm the dance at the "Casino" for the sports and recreation park.
