I am so sorry for your loss - do you have pictures of the jewellery? Maybe we could all watch out for it, as it is not uncommon to be approached by someone on the street to buy their items.

The money, unfortunately, is gone and you can work around the credit card, but the sentimental value of the jewellery is something entirely different.
