Thank you so much, D, Cathie, John, and Sylvia, what a good start! I'm sure any kind of donations would be gratefully received, and probably any light employment for Javier (he still does a good job watering) or for his wife, Maria, and her daughter, Ana, would be welcome too. Email me, and I will pass on the message. Also, someone anonymously emailed me this note: "I will be dropping off 500 pesos to Javier today- he is such a fine man...in order to encourage others you might mention my intention on the board- pls do not use my name... ...big thanks to you for your initative..." I looked through my files, but can't find a picture of Javier before the stroke...does anyone have one? Some people might not even recognize him now. He still has the same great smile, but has lost a lot of weight. |
