Hi Tia, I started to type a list, but it is all so subjective - I would advise you to contact Daniel Smith - the art supply store in Seattle. They are big and have an online catalogue, etc. The main thing is to find someone, either there, or at any art supply store for that matter, who will take the time to explain your options. Then you can just order the stuff and have it delivered or whatever. Ask for someone who actually uses watercolor. Often the staff (ie at Opus Framing here in Vancouver) is made up of artists, and they will put you onto someone who uses that medium. The most important thing for me is good paper - like Arches. You can use cheaper paint and brushes, but the paper will make a big difference to the results. |
