You're so right, Daniel. People can recognize the shapes of the 50 U.S States, even without an atlas. But they certainly couldn't point out 50 constellations. Even though we look up at the night sky all our lives.

We have a great book (I think it's for kids), by the author of "Curious George", that really helps:

It's totally retro, but it's very enjoyable to look through, and you will know the night sky after just looking at a few pages.
