Open your Duolingo account; click on your user name (top right,next to your pic); look for the drop-down box; click on settings; click on notifications. You can then uncheck a whole variety of things they email you about. Then click on "save changes".
BTW, the encryption device lower down this window was created by the creator of Duolingo.
