Thanks Rusty and/or Julie for making me look a little closer at the positions. I re-analyzed those coordinates and times on a map, and it works out to have been about 45 miles west of us as of 2 PM PDT (4 PM La Manz time.) I guess that means that according to the NHC, the center is passing its closest approach to us right about now, not later this evening. We still have no rain and just gusty breezes, and the GOES loop still shows no circulating storm pattern. I think at the 11PM EDT update tonight they'll admit that it lost at least its higher altitude circulation, and maybe more. At this point I don't think it could come back to life for us wind-wise. Rain-wise? Sure; all the moisture that was in Bud is still around, except for what got blown out when it lost its top (according to me.) I'm not complaining, just because I can't find it anymore! |
