Exciting news!
1 step forward in managing waste water in LaManzanilla.
The Committee, along with LaHuerta, Morgan (water director), Fermin (mayor -"Delagado") and others, organized a repair on our one and only sewer pump, which had a leaky gasket and didn't have enough pressure to send black water to the treatment plant in Los Ingenos. Morgan hired a professional pump clean/repair company from Rebalsito, who provide facturas for their work. The boys set up a tripod, lifted the heavy pump out of the black water and set it on the walk grate. Morgan got the new gasket and bolts from LaHuerta. The boys cleaned the joint, replaced the gasket and tested the now-strong water pressure and lowered the pump down. We watched the black water level go down quickly.
