As I write, my garbage sits in stinking cans on the street because there has been no pick up for almost two weeks. Guess the truck broke down. Most of my neighbours frequently run out of water because the town's water supply is running low due to the dry season. Meantime, the guy down the street waters the road every day. I could go on, but that would be pointless.
Did you know that dogs bark all night because they are lonely. They want to be inside. At least that's my theory, which I won't explain to the dog's owner ......... he already thinks most foreigners are nuts.
My neighbour has 4 roosters. One of them would get on the roof and crow day and night. Some of you know this sound ......... it literally pierces the skull. I did buy this rooster from the owner. She thinks it's funny. So do I. We do this every year. We have a different agreement each year on roosters.
It's a win-win kind of thing.
I've lived here for ten years. I'll never like dogs barking at night, but I have ear plugs. To be honest, I don't think this town is the greatest place on Earth. But it's pretty nice. I really like my home in Canada. It's not better or worse than here. Just different. The people are different too. Not better or worse.
Some silly poster I saw once said ...... "Don't sweat the small stuff." Guess it's true, but I still do complain about the dogs sometimes.540
