Like Katherine, I have used bay leaves for the past few years. I dump a handful in every drawer with whatever or nothing inside and in my Rubbermaid footlockers where I keep towels, sheets. I also interlay sheets of newspaper and bounce sheets among the linens. I include them in tubs of other things, too. I stuff my leather cowboy boots with bay leaves and loosely wadded newspaper and have found that to be successful, too. My books have survived the summers on the shelves. Each spring, I wax my appliances with auto wax and drape them with manta cloth covers. I also stand my mattress on end against a wall and cover it with an extra large sheet. So far these strategies have worked well for me. |
