There was a post a while ago about driving in Mexico. It was a nice try but the link was to a tourist writer. You can download and print out a really carefully done guide in English with important legalese also in Spanish (even to show to a policeman on the side of the road if he can read). I think I know how to attach a url on this board but you may have to copy and paste if I'm wrong. Every expat who lives in Jalisco should have a copy of this document in his/her car. Here goes:
