Fishing?

I’ll be coming down for Christmas, which is also my birthday. I could use any info on fishing from the shore near town. We won’t have a car, but can take a bus, walk, or paddle. I really enjoy walking on beaches and casting watching the sunset.

How is the fishing? What kind of fish? How big? What lures should I bring down? Where/when to go? Any pangas for hire? How much? Who’s the best?

Any items I should bring down for other fishermen?

I heard there is a Canadian that fishes the beach locally and is very good. Anyone know his name?
