Yes Jean I do listen to the news and read the paper. Yes there is a problem in Mexico as well as the U.S. Read the L.A. Times on their article of "Crisis in Mexico". It's an eye opener but written almost like a war novel. They go for the blood and guts. Mexico does have a problem, a very serious problem with crime. Since President Calderon took office, over 15,000 people have been murdered by the cartel. 15,000 in 3 years is not progress. I'm in Mexico at least 4 times a year and have always felt safe because I don't put myself in a position of dangerous activity. I've felt comfortable with the people of Mexico. They love their country as do I. I know this is strange but when Marijuana becomes legal in the U.S. watch the cartels become more violent. |
