Spoke to Lee Corbin, and we thought a group of interested people would be useful to gather up practical ideas about reducing water consumption etc, and then to go forward and decide what needs to be done here...ie: how to catalyse positive change locally,(without seeming disrespectful). I also think the discussion needs to be brought back here, so that we hear from as many people as possible, and so everyone can be in the loop. Lupe, wife of Morgan, our water steward, and owner of the bike shop on Calle Tamarindo, suggested to Lee that a delegation of gringos speak to the new delegado about their concerns. Maybe also speak to the Ejido, whose Assembly meets the first Sunday of every month. Maybe just going over our concerns with the executive would be useful. ***What do people think?*** ***If you are interested in pulling together ideas for saving water, both large and small, please offer your ideas here and say whether you want to work further on communicating those ideas, and/or figuring out what to do next.*** QUICK NOTE; El Tamarindo sold the resort portion of their outfit to an American company, Yellowstone.(but not their golf course) As well,Yellowstone now owns 22 hectares of the Hill at the south end of our bay, which it bought recently from the Ejido. I think their plan is to build another resort, which would be very tough on the acquifer. So meeting with Yellowstone will also be useful and educational, si? Thank you for all the responses! |
