2004 'Round the Rock

Back in March of 2004 Oso, Richard, Kim and I ran two races on H16's, each once around Roca Central in the bay. We called it the 'Round the Rock. Richard and Oso used Joe Santana's old yellow H16 and I ran Pistolera. In the first race we rafted together in the mid-bay to party a little (this is the only race I've ever been in where that happened). In the second race we became worried about Oso and Richard and whether or not they could finish, given that they were taking on water throughout the race and moving quite slow. Joe's boat had been dragged on the sand so much that it had holes worn through the hulls...They did finish, but that boat has been
retired". It was a fun day!
