If I were you I would deeply resent David's use of the word "robbery" to describe the petty theft he suffered. You, or at least your daughter, should be arguing vehemently in support of the distinction I am making. The two crimes are not similar at all. They are rather grotesquely different. I have been burglarized numerous times in my life. I have also been robbed by threat of violence. Two different words distinguish those experiences from each other.
