I really don't want to be insensitive Anne, yet I have no advice for you except to think about leaving the lowland tropics and heading for the highlands. It's so much more comfortable. There is a reason that throughout the Tropics, the larger civilizations developed at higher elevations. It's simply a healthier location to live, and much easier to grow a sustainable diet. Why I wasted so many years living in the lowland tropics, even bought some land, that was simply bad planning, some type of fantasy ya know, palm trees, Ocean sunsets, coconuts, etc. One forgets all of the negative that comes with all that. There really is no physical paradise, but there are nicer more comfortable places to live than La Manzanilla. Good luck, stay cool, ice on the head if that is what helps.
