Buying a Car post ... We have FM3s and we are looking for a car and our house is in LM. Where do we 'register' it? Does it matter where we buy it? is it like the states where you register the car in your state of residence? If you are looking to buy a local / nationalized Vehicle the Owner will need to sign over the paperwork to you along with the bill of sale and you need to register it at the Motor Vehicles Office in La Huerta about a block away from where you pay property taxes, Make sure you have a currant electrical bill (proof of Domicile address) It should cost about 500 pesos for the transfer and about 350 pesos for the new registration sticker. If you are buying a foreign car already in Mexico you may be able to register it in your home state. |
