Thanks everyone for the wonderful posts! We drove there and enjoyed the trip (drove the rental car - no issues, just go slow!). I was truly freaked out by the remains but agree - must have been quite the PLACE in it's heyday. So sad it has gone to disrepair - but it does make for a fun day trip! We did not see any bees, lots of bats that didn't like the interuption during the day!

I appreciate the history too - will do more on my own ... if I find anything of interest I'll repost.
