Daniel is right as usual! B of A is not connected with Banamex and you would be charged $5 every time you use the ATM at Banamex in Melaque if you use a B of A card. On the other hand with the B of A card it would be free, no extra charge from any Santandar bank, and another free option, is you can set up Safe Send, (ask B of A) and make transfers for free from your account to several banks in Mexico with just a phone call, but Banamex is not one of those banks. If you want to use the Banamex ATM in Melaque, or anywhere else in Mexico for free w/o being charged a fee, and to be able to transfer funds from the USA into a Banamex account, the best option I know of is to set up an account at Banamex USA, which is part of the CitiGroup banks. There is only one branch in the USA, located in Century City, CA. Not sure if you can open the account online, I don't think so, I went there in person, but Daniel may know more about that? Good luck with whatever you decide!
