Sorry, I did not mean to offend you or any Mexican. This is a common occurrence. The federales tell you the same, that people do jump in front of cars for money. They do try to pick gringos and it is a very sad thing that they do it. I did not mean to say that all mexicans don't have insurance or that they all run over people and not stop, but some do! I spent 6 months getting out of the problem and the insurance company did pay them 25,000.00 dollars. I had at least 10 witnesses but they would not testify to the federales. The federales told me they had warned the man many times to quit jumping in front of gringos. The admistario de publico also knew this person, but still went after me to support him for the rest of my life and his family because he was the sole income to his family. He was a goat herder (really). What I saw was his grandson push him in front of my truck. I did NOT hit him because I swerved to the side. He then climbed on the hood of the car and took a nose dive into the cement and knocked himself out. I was standing in front of my car at the time telling him to get down. I stayed there, his grandson left. I cared for him and payed for the doctor in Manzanillo and ambulance. While he spent the night, he ordered 2 cases of cigarettes, and a case of Tequila! Since I told the doctor to take care of him. My bill was 15,000 pesos. The federales did not charge me with any crime or infraction, and apologized for his actions! So, sorry for offending you! Take off your front plate!
