First you have to be honest in your assessment of the problem. Coming onto the message board with claims of "environmental concern of EPIC PROPORTIONS" "serious environmental issues" "threatening the entire ecosystem of the area" is just hype. 1) Your talking about a temporary camp ground putting a little raw sewage into the lagoon there. We in La Manzanilla have raw sewage going into our lagoon 4 months out of the year at a volume that makes the situation there look like a baby taking a wee wee. 2) Pretending like the traffic on the beach is a new situation, that it has always been pedestrian only is just plain not true. "destroying turtle nests, the bird life has been impacted drastically" also hype. I sit here and watch guys start their walk on the beach before dawn each time the turtles come up to lay eggs, they get most if not all of them and either sell them or turn them into the hatchery. Bird life being impacted dramatically, if so it was 50 years ago. I understand there are issues there but you will get more action by being honest than treating us as if we are stupid dups just waiting for you to tell us there is a crisis and then expecting us to get all excited. You also may want to keep in mind that there are only 3 of 36 beaches in the county of La Huerta which are still public. The public are constantly being squeezed into a smaller area and now your talking about another area being changed so that they have to walk long distances to use it. Have you made inquiries into making places for them to park once they are not allowed to use the beach or is the goal to just limit the number of people by making it as difficult as possible? The people are going to hit a limit sometime soon and they are going to take out their frustration starting with the weakest link. Best to try and keep things in perspective and to look for solutions which have everyone in mind. |
