Craig... your comment is as hilarious as it is poignant. Dirty Dancing!! I'm still chuckling here... And Sherri sums it up well with a similar wry anecdote of life as it is today in LM (really good one, Sherri!!). A little humour in debates never hurts... And I think Lynne makes really excellent arguments about the advantages of an ATM in LM for locals and full-time ex-pats. As I mentioned in an earlier post, not all "progress" is bad. And much as I like to almost proudly proclaim to people about LM, "...not even an ATM in town and very few if any take credit cards"... to demonstrate just how far removed it is from the standard tourist meccas that abound, I don't mind changing up my boasting of the place if, instead I have to say sometime in the near future like, "... the village has only got one ATM, can you believe it!?" Honestly, I think the true heart of LM will remain much the same for many years even with another modern contraption in town. Next people are going to want to run Felipe out of town! Down with the internet!! (oh... I guess it is "down" a lot for some anyways... LOL)
