I hope no one panics. The point is to get the info out, share the facts (in both directions, I hope) and see what shakes out.

I think it will shake out, but it might not shake out quickly enough for us, depending on how long we have to legally do something about it. And ours is more complicated because we have a trailer.

But if people are concerned they can go ahead and read the vehicle regulations in Customs and make their own interpretations or hire someone reputable to figure it out.
