I recently received my 1 year retirement visa, formerly FM3 in Manzanillo. I was told I needed to get an extension to my 6 month car importation permit at the Aduana/Customs Port Authority which I was successful in doing. No charge. The extension form, which they have at the info desk in the centre, had to be filled out, then it was stamped & approved right there. The extension matched the expiry of my visa which in this case is 1 year. There was no mention about getting any email confirmation.

Getting there: When leaving the Immigration office you head back toward the bridge, get on it & take the 1st exit to the right "Manzanillo Puerto/Minatitlan", go left at the 1st turn about & straight into the port area. Bear left at 1st, then head toward the exit to the right. It looks like you're leaving the area but it takes you right by the Aduana on your right hand side. (A movie is available of this trip if you need more specific directions.)
