What saddens me is the compassion shown for this troubled young man seems to exceed the compassion show to others in need, who have not broken into any houses and stolen any stuff.

I am not very near the situation, so maybe I am missing something, but it seems to me he's been offered enough chances. Time to find a way to keep him from breaking in to houses by locking him up.

Sad, yes. Might free up some compassion amongst the lot of you for people needing help that haven't demonstrated incorrigibility.

That is my unsolicited 2¢.
